When someone searches for a café or a dentist nearby, Google shows the map first. The businesses at the top have the most complete and up-to-date profiles, not always the best service. I make sure yours is complete and up to date.

Is Google Business Profile free?
Yes, creating the profile is free. What I do is complete it: the description, categories, services, photos and the same details everywhere. That is what makes Google show you higher on the map.
How do I get my business on Google Maps?
You need a Google Business Profile with a verified address. If one exists, it needs completing; if not, it gets created. Google then decides who to show based on how relevant and complete each profile is, how well known the business is and how far away the searcher is.
Do I need a website to show up on Google Maps?
No, you can show up with the profile alone. But a connected website gives Google more information about your business and helps you show up in more searches.
Is it for me if I sell a service but have no premises?
No. If you have no place where you see your customers (for example, everything happens online), a Google Business Profile is not for you: Google requires it for businesses that serve customers in person. In that case, a website is what you need.
What if my business is already on Google but I did not create it?
That happens a lot: Google creates listings from whatever it finds. I claim it so it is in your name and you can manage it.
