Law Firm Website Design for Lawyers

Be found on the day they need you most.

A lawyer website that explains the cases you take, in words your clients understand, and lets them reach you with one tap. I work with small businesses in Brownsville, Texas.

Why a lawyer needs a website

Most legal problems never get help. Low-income Americans get no legal help, or not enough, for 92% of their substantial civil legal problems, and they seek help for only 1 in 4 of them (Legal Services Corporation, 2022). Many people don’t look for a lawyer because they don’t know their problem has a solution.

And when they do look, a recommendation is only the start: 74% of legal clients research law firms online after someone recommends one, and online reviews were the deciding factor for 57% (Scorpion, 2025). If you don’t show up with reviews, a clear explanation of your practice areas and an easy way to reach you, that recommendation goes to someone else.

What your law firm website includes

What someone with a legal problem wants to know before telling you about their case.

  • Your practice areas, explained

Employment, family, personal injury, Social Security disability, criminal defense, immigration: for each one, the specific cases you take (“unpaid overtime”, “child support”), the way people search for them.

  • Easy case consultations

A button to contact you directly and describe the case from a phone, the moment the person makes up their mind.

  • Your attorneys

Each one with a photo, practice area and years of experience. With a legal problem, trust is everything.

  • Client reviews

Your Google reviews, right on your website: resolved cases, told by the people who lived them.

  • Video consultations

If you meet clients by video call, make it visible: it opens the door to clients from all over the Rio Grande Valley.

  • Frequently asked questions

What the consultation costs, which documents to bring, how long a case takes. Answering them on your website saves you calls and puts clients at ease.

  • Office and hours

Address, map and office hours, by appointment or walk-in.

How to show up on Google when people search for a lawyer

For Google to show you when someone searches for a lawyer, six things matter most:

  1. A website of your own. It’s the foundation for everything else: Google links it to your Business Profile and reads it to understand your practice areas. Without it, you depend on your profile and referrals alone.

  2. A complete Google Business Profile. The “Lawyer” category or the one for your specialty, your hours, photos of the office and your practice areas as services. It’s what shows up when people search “lawyer near me”.

  3. Each practice area by name. People don’t search for “lawyer”, they search for “personal injury lawyer” or “family lawyer”. Each area explained well on your website is one more search you can show up in.

  4. Your clients’ words, not legal jargon. Your client types “my boss didn’t pay me overtime”, not “Fair Labor Standards Act violation”. Your website has to speak the way they search.

  5. Reviews. Ask every client for one when you close a case with a good outcome, with a quick text message.

  6. The same name, address and phone number everywhere. On your website, on Google, on LinkedIn and on Facebook. If they change from one place to another, Google isn’t sure which one is right.

Available designs

This website is built specifically around the services and needs of a law firm. It has its six practice areas with photos (employment law, family law, personal injury, Social Security disability, criminal defense and immigration), adjusted to the practice areas you handle, each with the cases it handles, the office hours with video consultations and a box to describe your case with no strings attached, the attorneys, client reviews, the office address with a map and the questions people ask most, like how much the first consultation costs or how long a case takes. It also has “What’s your case?”: people tap their situation, see which practice area and attorney handle it, the first steps and what to bring, and tell you about their case on WhatsApp.

I build three types of websites, and in the example you can see each one using the bar at the top. Which one suits you depends on your practice: whether you work solo or in a firm, how many practice areas you cover and how you charge for consultations.

  • A single page

For a solo attorney with one or two practice areas: your areas, your experience and a button to contact you directly, all on one page.

    See it →
  • With a blog

For a firm with several practice areas: each area with its own page, plus articles that explain people’s rights and bring in clients from Google.

    See it →
  • With booking and payments

If you want clients to book a consultation in your open time slots and pay for it online.

FAQ

How do lawyers get clients?

Beyond referrals, by being where people search when the problem hits. Someone typing “personal injury lawyer Brownsville” needs help now. A complete Google Business Profile, a website that explains your practice areas in plain words and lets them contact you directly, and reviews from your clients put you in front of that person.

What is legal marketing?

It’s how you make yourself known as a lawyer: your website, your Google Business Profile, your social media and what you write. It works best when it teaches instead of sells: an article explaining what to do if you were fired and never got your final paycheck attracts exactly the client who needs an employment lawyer.

What kind of advertising works for lawyers?

The kind that informs. Content that explains people’s rights (child support, car accidents, immigration) builds trust and leads to your website, where the person sees that you handle their case and gets in touch. Google Ads work for urgent searches like “criminal defense lawyer”, but they pay off more when they lead to a clear website and not just a phone number.

When will I see results on Google?

Once we publish your website, it can show up on Google, but Google takes time to trust a new site and rank it higher. According to Google, it usually starts to show 4 to 12 months after it goes live. On the map it tends to be faster if your profile is complete and reviews come in.
